About the Role
As a senior systems engineer, you will specify, analyse, design and verify integrated radar and electronic warfare systems encompassing multiple engineering disciplines, including software, electronics and mechanical components. Key activities include:
- Analysing user or system requirements and interfaces to ensure customer needs are understood and implemented
- Designing system architectures capable of meeting requirements specifications
- Decomposing requirements to develop specifications for lower level subsystems
- Allocating requirements to physical components within the design
- Performing budgeting of performance criteria across system components to ensure overall performance requirements are met
- Development of Verification and Validation plans and other artefacts, such as Verification Cross Reference Matrices, test plans and procedures
- Overseeing conduct of testing and other aspects of Verification and Validation.
About You
Your skills and experience will include:
- At least 10 years systems engineering experience, ideally working on Defence acquisition projects or other complex system integration projects
- Experience in working within multi-disciplinary and/or Integrated Project Teams.
The following skills and experience will be highly regarded:
- Post-graduate training or professional development in Systems Engineering
- Familiarity with formal Systems Engineering Standards, such as ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 or EAI 632
- Prior experience using requirements management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS
- Prior experience using system modelling tools and languages such as SysML, Capella, UML, Cameo System Modeller, Enterprise Architect etc.
- Prior involvement in test planning and test conduct
- Knowledge of product safety engineering methodologies.
Applicants must be eligible and willing to obtain and maintain a Defence NV1 clearance, which requires Australian citizenship.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, Electronic, Software, Mechatronic or Computer Systems Engineering, or a related field.
