About the Role
Daronmont Technologies is seeking a qualified System Safety Engineer to lead safety engineering activities across defence-related projects. This role involves conducting safety assessments, maintaining hazard logs, developing safety case reports, and representing the company in customer-facing safety forums. You’ll work within a project team and may mentor junior engineers. Key activities include:

  • Lead and deliver system safety engineering tasks aligned with Defence and company standards.
  • Conduct safety analyses (e.g., Preliminary Hazard Analysis, System Hazard Analysis).
  • Prepare Safety Case Reports and manage risk control plans.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders in safety working groups.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • At least 5-6 years of relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of system safety practices and standards (e.g., MIL-STD-882).
  • Experience with hazard identification/analysis, risk management, and WHS compliance.
  • Skilled in technical communication and detailed documentation.

The following skills and experience will be highly regarded:

  • System Safety qualification, or training
  • Prior participation in a formal defence System Safety Program.
  • Knowledge of ISO 31000, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, Australian WHS regulations and Awareness of SafeWork Australia Codes of Practice.
  • Exposure to applicable Australian Standards related to one or more specialties areas such as electrical installations, occupational noise, working at heights.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary engineering qualification (eligible for MIEAust).
